As King Mohammed VI said during his speech commemorating the 23rd anniversary of his ascension to the throne, Morocco and Algeria are indeed “two brotherly peoples, who are bound by...a common destiny.”

King Mohammed VI did not specify what common destiny lies in store for the two countries, but there are some striking similarities between Algeria and Morocco.

They are perhaps not the ones that the king was hoping to highlight.
